While waiting and hoping for some decent Heron shots early one

morning this week, this scene caught my eye from my hide. I liked the

way the light was enhancing the shoreline to the entrance to the distant

cove in the lake.

Many thanks for taking the time to view, comment/critique, rate and, for

allowing me the opportunity to share.

Thanks again,

Jim j.

Jim,

This looks live a very peaceful location and a good place for a bird blind.  I am still looking for something like this in the Austin area, but haven't found it yet. Nice image and thanks for sharing.

Thanks!

I expect our area is probably not as heavily populated as is yours. This lake is probably a bit larger than 200 Acres with an estimate of better than a section or 640 Acres of public access around it. There are many isolated areas as you can imagine, but the roadways and trails appear to have been very well thought out. From here, I am probably only 150 yards from my car.

When necessary, I have a "pop up" type blind that I can set up. However, from this spot I normally don't really need it. It's a small area with trees on both sides that overhang above my head. To the left (Easterly direction) of this view is the mouth of the larger cove that I'm on and I have a good view across the lake and can easily see any approaching waterfowl or Herons. To the right (West) of this view the cove extends probably 200 yards to my right of which I can see a considerable part of the bank. There are fallen trees scattered along nearly all the shoreline like those you can see here in the distance. Unfortunately the other day, . . . the area was just not very productive compared to previous visits. I did get a few shots of a Little Green Heron, but they weren't very sharp. . . . "I missed!"

It is a great place to spend the morning!

Many thanks Bill for taking the time to view and comment!
