eric_beers2 0 Posted April 27, 2001 Graininess aside (bad scan), I'd like to know how I could better the composition. Also, any suggestions in how to get proper exposure in EXTREMELY bright sunshine without losing details (like I did)? Link to comment
GerrySiegel 868 Posted April 27, 2001 The texture of the old volcanoes comes out when it chooses not when the photographer is ready Eric. Bright sunlight often doesn't help. Go back and look for the magic time of day. And as you can see the palms, cut off at the base are too many and add little to the main subject. That's my honest thoughts, but I am not a nature photog... not patient enough. Aloha. Link to comment
windsor 0 Posted April 27, 2001 I'm hardly one to talk, but this photo feels like it's a background in search of a subject. It happens to my nature photos all the time, my wife looks at them and says, "It's nice, but what is it supposed to be a picture *of*?" Is it the cliffs? The trees? The sky? Nothing dominates, or calls attention to itself. Where is my drawn? I need something to latch on to. Else give me some bold contrast, and fight for my attention. All the details here seem to receed, nothing steps forward (so to speak). Link to comment
