I cannot understand why you do not have MANY more comments. This is a delightful image, the colors are exceptional and the texture superb. Your choice of composition is absolutely respectable. I tend not to comment or critique on cropping or composition, as I always assume the photographer had a reason for it, as is the case with the rock in the foreground. Yes, it adds context to the landscape, but you might try, just for your own enjoyment, to eliminate the rock to achieve a more abstract frame. All said, it is a wonderful and elegant photograph.

I'm in agreement with Daniel.  You have a fair amount of diversity in the water: undulating lines, areas of light and dark, some water spilling over small ledges.  I'm guessing you have the rock in the lower left as an anchor for the frame.  Regardless, I find the very different texture of this rock to be so at odds with the rest of the image that personally I'd prefer to have it gone and be left only with a semi-abstract pattern of flowing water.  All IMO, of course.

I will say that I too really like the texture of the water and the flowing lines that you have captured. However, personally I like the rock. I think it adds a contrast to the image to keep it on the edge of abstract.

No matter what it's a great shot!

This is an excellent capture Brian. The color of the rock is almost the same as the color of water and really complements the whole scene. Very nice.

Beautiful shot. I think you chose the perfect shutter speed to keep detail in the water while also creating the motion blur. The rock doesn't do much positive or negative for me. This was really well seen.

Water looks so interesting and title you did shows this,I find the rock as an excellent balance for water softness, tone color comes with a plus to this image, compliments.

My own more fully explained point of view, since I am in a minority.  To me, an abstract is that which, by definition, is more difficult to identify.  It's more a concept and assemblages of shapes, colors, etc.  The silky water conveys that idea of abstract.  The rock, however, is too easily identified and therefore detracts from the qualities that give this photograph its abstract qualities.  All IMO, of course.

Thanks for all your comments and the discussion about the rock.

I think Stephen has a good point, and I have tried to crop the image and I have made a new upload without the rock.

Best regards to all of you
