I was not sure at first, with it being a 'rotten' apple, but it just looked so interesting to me. My grandchildren were still not too sure at first but I explained to them that this is a natural thing to see, with hornets/wasps. The fruit is alreading 'fermenting' !!!

I know what hornets look like, and yes this is a 'hornet'!!! Don't know what I was thinking (or more likely - not thinking) . I think the 'heat' is getting to me. I have been stung by one many years ago, and I shall never forget that one. Many thanks for your kind words and support. Most sincerely, Gail

Thankyou Joseph for dropping by and sharing your thoughts. I often don't thnk of using my 15-55mm for Macro work, and it is a Macro Lens. I must think of it more often.

It's certainly a different world you inhabit. Your children are like so many people; they can't imagine what you could possibly be doing until they see the results. That's one of the roles of the artist, to discover and present the connections that sometimes spark the "ah-hah" moment in the viewer.

What I find most refreshing about your photography is that you are so totally aware of your surroundings when out and about. You see what so many of us don't, and are able to make what we think as trivial in our surroundings into a bold or humorous statement. My sincere appreciation for your visit and insight. most sincererly, Gail
