The cloud-gods were smiling on you.  I've never seen this view of Reynolds reflecting in the creek, and the creek itself is a very photogenic element in the frame.

Yes they were...for a while anyway. This view doesn't get seen very often. It's in that area where the park service frowns on human feet.

The crisp detail from the clear mountain air is what I love out West.  Of course a smokin' peak always looks great.  A gorgeous landscape...  Mike

Fred, thank you for your comment which brought me to this beauty! I know you were kidding about the mustache, but it's mine to respond, yes, I will, just send me the picture on pierredumas@photo.net! Or just mail me and I will send you a deer for this one or some similar!

Best regards

Yes, Fred, I thought you had probably stepped off the boardwalk.  I don't mind the park service "frowning" on that as long as they don't make it illegal.  Sometimes a photographer has to do what a photographer must do.  I remember visiting Arches National Park and feeling totally inhibited and unwelcomed because of all the signs telling people to stay on the paths.  I ended up leaving early because of the people pressure.

I did get scolded once a few years ago for being out there. Two rangers spoke to me when I returned to the parking lot and gave me the rundown on how fragile all the plant life is but didn't say it was forbidden...just that it was harmful. I can see their point too. Can you imagine the network of trails that would be out there if all visitors could just take off in any direction they wanted. I told them I was careful and understood what they were saying but also said that I don't think my two feet do any more harm than an animals hoof. Millions of feet could have an impact though.

I love it. I wish he was standing out in the water. I would send you a photo of me but it wouldn't be clean shaven. I already have a mustache and beard, just not a cool one like in your photo. Mine is gray!! Maybe you could turn it red or something. I'll have to take one of myself. I don't already have one of me because I'm always on the wrong side of the camera.

Fred, they do have a point, and both of us know that.  When I go off-trail in a place like this, I try to walk on rocks or areas where the impact of my feet might leave minimal damage.  I also do it when few or no other people are around -- I don't want to start a trend.

The little wisps of cloud lends a slightly volcanic threat.  I love how the greens and blues wander around and intermingle.

Fred, if there is something that is impossible for PS, that's removal of beard! It is possible, but with the same face shaven and picture taken from same angle on similar lighting, but that's senseless to do! The mustache on that picture was made from my grey quasi mustache!

If you ever shave you choose once the right side of the camera, ha!

Cheers!

P.S. As for the deer, I don't have a whole deer on PSD, neither I have a picture of a whole one, that's why he's standing aside!

very good and promising place.

did you try to step back 2 meters to include more of the small waterfall on the foreground. It would make the composition complete.

also, you could make a vertical panorama - it would be best in such place I guess.

Pierre..... maybe some other time then. I just thought I could get a free makeover out of it all. Make me look younger so I could show my wife. She might like me better. Ha! Or not. Thanks for the fun conversation.

Anton.... thanks for the comments. A small waterfall would have been nice but there wasn't one. Just the ripples.

Yeah......same here. I try not to attract any attention in these places and watch my step as well. That's why it's still such an attractive place to be.
