happyam 0 Posted July 8, 2003 The light projected on the wall looks very interesting ! Link to comment
laura2 0 Posted July 8, 2003 The colors are lovely. I really like these sconces myself. They accent the image in the offset-center, and I like the contrast of the dark doorway. It's really awesome. Link to comment
ellery_chua___singapore 0 Posted July 8, 2003 Nicely done. Good work on the metering exposure control. Was this captured on neg or slides ? I wondering if its better the door way not be in the pic. Link to comment
dragana 0 Posted July 9, 2003 The door to the right is distracting, maybe you want to crop it to make photo symmetric? Link to comment
karen_siebert 0 Posted July 9, 2003 I can certainly see why the shadows cast were intriging to you. They are quite beautiful. I really like this picture, but I do wish that the door were cropped out. I find the large black opening a bit distracting from an otherwise really nice picture that would have perfect symmetry and balance if cropped this side of the door. Anyways, you certainly had a good insight on this. Wonderful use of light and shadows. Link to comment
carol_watson 0 Posted July 9, 2003 I kept the doorway in there to create some tension... looks like it's too much tension and risks pulling your eyes away from the lights. I am paranoid about creating images that are too symetrical in composition, though. Perhaps I shouldn't have been on this one! Live and learn... Thanks for the comments, everyone!! I really appreciate it!! Link to comment
randy_spears1 0 Posted July 9, 2003 This was on the highly rated photos page and it just jumps off the page. I might agree with the other comment and crop out the door and see how it works. Then again, it might balance out the left side. Link to comment
ivophoto 0 Posted July 9, 2003 The stairs should be not so dark, this would give some dept on this picture Link to comment
narendra_morum 0 Posted July 10, 2003 Great Capture. Wish the arch wasnt there though. Link to comment
robert_tilden1 0 Posted July 10, 2003 Carol, with 141 ratings, and counting, I'll add my 2 cents (they must have taken the cent sign off the keyboard). About the door: I want to support your decision to include it. Symmetry has it's place, but in order to balance the lights on the left, it helps to have the dark doorway on the right for balance. How's that for justification! Now about that hand in the frame, weird, but the colors in the picture compliment the wall and room colors; could have something to do with why it was chosen; well maybe they are into skeletons, cults, etc. Now that I've helped you, perhaps you could give me an easy way to get ratings like you do.
