tree 0 Posted July 20, 2003 This statue provides a wealth of possible compositions: Thes imple straight-on shot is one. There is a lot of emotion tied up in the bronze though, and I think you could do more to capture it. Here are some ideas:What about a tight focus on the flower in the statue's right hand, perhaps at an angle and depth of field to capture the bindings.Similar composition of the left hand (what can I say? I'm a sucker for hand studies)Getting above the statue and shooting into the defiant face, probably at a relatively wide aperture.Getting low and trying to follow the gaze of the statue from behind, almost shooting over his shoulder. It may have been too bright for that though, but with the right cloud pattern it could be quite powerful.Just some ideas: take them as you will. Link to comment
john_vo1 0 Posted September 17, 2003 I don't particularly like the lighting here. Photo appears shot during midday so sunlight is quite harsh on grass in background and on the statue. This shot has potential, and I would have liked to see it shot in cooler evening light. Also try opening the aperature more to get rid of distracting background. Regards, John Link to comment
