Too dark, i think. A tighter crop (or better: a longer lens) would help too. I haven't tried fireworks shots (though i wish i had my camera last nite ;), so i can't help you out technically. I think this needs work, but i can't help, sorry

Pretty good for your first attempts. I agree, if you can get closer, that works far better. I see you're using the same camera as myself, and thought you might like to check out couple of fireworks shots in my single photos.

Nice. I like it alot. I wanted to attempt some firework shots this year but didnt make it. This is great. I have seen some more impressive shots but I dont knock this one at all. Actually I find it quite nice especially considering you were not working with an slr. Good job.

You're timing was great on this shot. Does your camera have a multi-exposure setting? I stumbled upon my camera's multi setting halfway through the fireworks display and it made for some interesting shots without having to wait for the finale (but not as spectacular as some of the others who have posted).

...I was fortunate to get this shot. I timed it by listening for the explosions, then holding down the shutter and praying a lot. ;) I could not believe when I saw the heart-shaped burst -- and when I saw I caught the exposure, I was very pleased. I don't think I CAN get multi-exposures except with Photoshop, and traffic was rotten and I got there as the show started, so I just started snapping.
