Turkey Vulture

Thanks for taking a look!

I had been chasing these guys down trying to get shots of them but

they see ya coming a mile away and stay one step out of the range of

my 18-200. Finally one day we were driving down the road and saw

these guys in the ditch. I jumped out and snuck up on them (they flew

up over a rise) and this fellow did a bit of posing for me.

Would love to hear your thoughts!

great angle and depth of field, the wing soars out almost like that of an albatross. the left wing has that primary feather askew which is interesting too. i'd look at a tighter crop with less blue  space above. and--if you're open to photoshopping-- i'd lose the post on the right and crop a bit there as well. dandy turkey vulture overall!

Hi Judi, mmmm ugly bird, but a really nice capture. Birds are so exsasperating...I'm always chasing them around somewhere. You've done well to get this really nice shot. I do agree somewhat that you could maybe lose some of the blue sky, but I still really like thi pic. best regards Louise

Judi, I loved this image since the 1st time I saw it.  It's an outstanding composition with those huge wings spread out. The background while semi in focus, is softer then the subject and really helps the viewer stay focused on it.
