The Slot, Point Lobos

I knew of this spot 18 years earlier. Within overcast conditions, I used the 45mm F4, and took about 4 frames to get this winner of 4.

Don,  This is an excellent detail shot that needs to be viewed large. The detail in the pebbled sand and textures of the rocks and water are terrific.  Isn't this a wonderful park?  My wife and I visited it shortly on a Big Sur trip a few years ago.  I think this might have been the sight where we saw seals up on the rocks?  Nicely done.  Happy New Year.   Larry

Larry Thanks, Yes, a great place to return to as its always different, and there's always an opportunity to Photograph wildlife, Birds, Otters, Seals, and I even saw two Bobcats cross on the path I was on, but the lens I had attached at the time was too long. Maybe next time!

Great shot.

I hope you don't mind the question, but can you comment on the shutter speed?  I see a lot of coastal photos that go for the long exposure look, but you managed to freeze some of the water movement while showing motion at the head of the wave.  It makes for a very nice progression from the stationary rock, to the slow moving water finally to the crashing wave.
