I chased this guy around the garden for about an hour before he stayed

still enough for me to quickly shoot a couple of shots! Your comments

would be appreciated. Thanks Louise

I really like this shot. The lighting and definition are very good and the flowers compliment the "ear ring" like lobe and eye. The diffused background leaves all the elements on the same plane, beautifully balanced.

The larger view is worth the visit.........

My compliments.....

Best regards

Bright blue sky backdrop usually ruins the composition - but this one somehow adds appeal to it.  Beautiful shot.

Louise,

I can definately appreciate the "chasing around until they stay still enough for a couple of shots!"

I would say you were rewarded very well for your efforts!

Very nice fine details as a result of the excellent lighting and your abilities to express them with your camera. The composition is well enhanced by the position of the bird, and the red bloom/flowers and that bit of blue sky really makes for this nice composition!

Regards always,

Jim j.

This is a very nice shot! When he decided to stay still for a second, he had his back to you, but at least he turned his head and you have the eye nicely in focus. In fact, the whole bird has excellent clarity and the background is nicely blurred. Great colours too!

Nice capture. You had an awkward angle to shoot, but you have really made the best of it. The pattern of the needles and the colour really help to make this shot. I like it a lot.

Thanks Don for your kind comments. Not only was the bird turning away from me, but I was shooting over a gate which was locked! thanks again for looking. Louise
