Thankyou for your visit and input. I understand your feelings about the crop, and I thought of not cropping it as 'close' as I did. But I have been reading a book on 'Understanding Close-Up Photography' by  Bryan Peterson (Creative Close Encounters With Or Without A Macro Lens) and he explains what TRUE MACRO images are and the difference between them and 'Close-up Images'. I struggled with the 'crop' as it seems as if he is saying that a MACRO image is one that is so close that it fills up your image area. I know I am not saying this right- but for example, the thumbnail would be in this case almost entirely of the 'Bee on the middle of the flower'. I know I will have to understand just what the 'boundaries' are, but I think I was anxious to do it properly. Often when discussing cropping my images with my Dad, I will have an image where there is too much 'information' in the viewing area. Dad will explain to me, the exact area where my 'image' really is, and I soon see that he is right. I imagine it will take me awhile to 'SEE' just what should be included in my image, but I do thank you for your thoughts, as I was going to include more in the 'cropped' area. I appreciate your opinion, as you have much more experience than I do. Warm regards Kallol, Gail

Nice macro. But I'm more touched by your sensitivity and concern about bees. Let the tribe increase, let the gardens bloom... and let them fill your heart with joy and hives with honey... I wish you all the best, friend.

Fantastic macro shot, really leaves nothing much to be desired. May be the only way forward from here on will be the technique of focus stacking which I hear is really needed for high magnification work.

After reading your story on the bee I too realise that I don't see them as often as I used to be before. Environmental changes are certainly taking place at both macro & micro level !

My best regards.
