Hi, Gail! Happy Canada Day! Enjoy this long weekend with your loved ones! Warm regards, Tamara P.s. The roses are wonderful! They don't live long but see happy and beautiful moments, so their reflections are about life that is beautiful. (Have you ever thought that they are like butterflies?) Warm regards, Tamara

Your narrative influences how I view this.  I like the feeling of weight on the wet rose, weight from the rain, and the anthropomorphic sense that it is still leaning down from it all.  The roses on the right remind me of what one brings to mark a memory.  It feels so distant, as if it, itself, is a memory compared to the vibrancy on the rose in the forefront.  Some of my favorite images on PN are those that are accompanied with musings of the artist.  In your case, a spill-over of abundant talent and thought.

My deepest appreciation for your lovely remarks. You have such a gift for 'wordsmithing'. Your words 'flow' and it is delighful to read them. I am so glad you are back to sketching, your latest shows much improvement. I hope you are enjoying it once again.

I have never thought of Roses and Butterflies in association, but when I think intently on it, yes, it is quite possible. You have a Great Holiday Weekend as well. I hope you have time to get some great captures!!!! thankyou so much for your visit.

Hello Gail! I speak English not very well, but my knowledge is enough to read your story and understand that it is not about the language. It is about the soul. Thank you. Have a pleasant time.

Gail, this capture is so very beautiful!  Like you, I love to spend time with the flowers in my garden; so many life's lessons learned and played out there like parables. Little communities to observe, life moments, birth and death, the passing of time. Years ago, I was very ill and the advice my doctor gave me was to surround myself with the people and things I love - it was then that I really started spending time in my garden, just observing (I was too ill to do anything else at the time); my eyes would tear up at the sheer beauty in the simplest things that otherwise might have gone unnoticed. To this day, I am entranced with the way the light dances on the leaves or the way a tiny little bug will crawl up and over a rose petal. Anyway, to make a long story short, I am touched by your ability to see these things as well; in a brief and simple moment, a thought can fill one with gratitude for the moments in life.

Beautiful image; I love the color and the processing you used here to fade the background roses. Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :)

Thank you so much for 'sharing' with me, your  when you are at your 'lowest' yet quite often you discover some of the very simple 'riches' that were there all along, those things that 'you would not have seen otherwise'. If we are fortunate and I would say you were, we realize these things at that time, and do remember them as we grow older, memories that 'pop' into our minds when perhaps we were abou to take some of the simple pleasures for 'granted'. My Mom saw beauty in such simple things in nature, and for some reason I have always been the same. We were quite poor while I was growing up and I never really saw that. I knew that I could not have some of the things my friends whose parents made more money could have, but I never thought to feel sorry for myself or find blame in my parents. I always appreciated what they could provide. I never lacked for affection, the cementing of good values and morals, whenever Dad had a car and could afford the gas, Sunday drives and hiking through the woods were pleasures I shall always remember. 'Orange Crush' ice cream floats, sharing a 'foot long hot dog' and 'french fries' from the 'chip truck' were treats that when we had them were really a big deal. One day we will not have all these 'conveniences' and we will be fortunate if the simple beauties in nature are still there for us to enjoy. Thankyou for your kind words, I think we are very 'like-minded', bless you,

fond regards, Gail
