I definitely prefer this version to the normal color version you have posted. It's a more unearthly and ominous feel to the b/w near ir version, and that works especially good knowing the location. Keep up the great work. :-)

This access portal was the main entrance into the Titan-II missile

complex north of Sonoita, east of Sahuarita, Arizona. The crew would

also pass through this portal to access the missile silo itself.

Normally only the top few inches of this structure would be visible,

but for some reason about 25 feet of soil has been removed from this

site, exposing all of the underground structures (except the silo

itself, which was destroyed when the missile was removed around 1983).

 

I realize that the lighting could be better here, but I intentionally

shot this near-IR digital photo at midday to get a stark contrast

between the vegetation and the sky. Does this work for you? Comments

WOW! Where the heck did you find this fellow? I had to look at yoru comments before I felt like an idiot and thought this was a real rock. lol. Neet picture. Nice filtering.
