ashomsky 0 Posted July 3, 2003 This is a very close, sharp photo with excellent bright colors. Looks like this think is wearing a bow in its "hair." Link to comment
ray watson 0 Posted July 3, 2003 The orange "horns" are normally hidden. I was shooting with a 50 mm reversed lens so I was about 1 inch or so from the larva with the lens. At one point I had moved my finger close to the larva to move a small leaf and accidentally touched it's back. As I touched it the larva reared it's head up and shot the small "horns" out of the top of it's head. Link to comment
h._p. 2 Posted July 3, 2003 Yes, very nice. Only two points I'd make. A little less space above the 'horns' would give it more impact and I don't think I like the green in the bottom left corner. Link to comment
niranjn 0 Posted July 3, 2003 Super sharp, excellent dof and awesome colors! But you knew that :-) I love the orange "horns". Like the addition of the green stem on the left. No nits to pick, except that I wonder if more space on the right and a tiny bit more on top would be better. Link to comment
ray watson 0 Posted July 3, 2003 I took about 15 shots of this guy and the only one that came out really good was this one but it was really close to the edge of the image. When I am shooting with a reversed 50 mm I get a bit of vignetting in the corners ( you can see this at the top right ). I could not really give much more room above or to the right. Link to comment
hayward 0 Posted July 4, 2003 The vignetting and the green in the corner tend to give it a diagonal flow - which works. Nice one - both a touch comical and aesthetically pleasing. If I have to nitpick, I'd say the frame colors could be better. Link to comment
rp3o 0 Posted July 4, 2003 Are those shreds of cheddar cheese sticking out of its head?! Kidding aside, awesome shot - the clarity and color, combined with the detail you were able to get is just perfect! Link to comment
rodney_steele 0 Posted July 5, 2003 I've never gotten one to smile for me like that! Seriously, great photograph: composition and lighting. Link to comment
