jim schwaiger 0 Posted July 2, 2003 Chuck Yeager's first time in Decatur, Alabama. They gave him an award to celebrate 100 years of flight this year. Link to comment
michael_ward1 0 Posted July 2, 2003 Looks like it's Alabama week on Rowell. Did anyone ask Chuck if he remembered that flight at Kitty Hawk? He looks old enough to have seen all 100 years of flight. Must be all that clean living. Good capture of a genuine hero. Not many of them get to be known. Link to comment
peterneibert 0 Posted July 3, 2003 I'm never sure what to do with portraits or other people pictures. With this one I don't understand the value of including the lower section of the lectern/podium thing. If you crop it just below the Alabama Jubilee medallion, retaining its informational significance, the Yeager image seems stronger, or at least it's a more prominent element of the picture -- and it's possible to do this within a conventional square frame. One other thing: Chuck's leathery face could use a little more light (a lift in the lower part of the RGB curve), tho' not as much as his messianic finger. jim schwaiger 0 Posted July 3, 2003 Peter, I have to agree. I wanted to get rid of the rope anyway. His skin was very dark and leathery, he definately hasn't been trapped in the office these last few years. I tried lightening it up and adjusting the hue of his skin before posting, but this looked the most natural, although my screen may be a bit lighter than yours. Link to comment
