I truly enjoyed your image Tony. I think it is soft and beautifully edited. As for species, the image that is just above this comment looks very much like a Columbine I just purchased. There are a few new varities out now. I don't know if this helps. Sincere regards, Gail

I just noticed your response when I finally got around to visiting my follow up on comments page. Thanks for posting the second image. Gail nailed it,  this is a columbine. Later that same day while loading my truck at the lumber mill the answer to that ID puzzle came to me.

FWIW I much prefer the portrait orientation to the landscape version. Although cropping the landscape version to remove  everything to the left of and including that sharp focused bit of stem (which still bugs me ) would create and interesting off center  composition with some nice oof elements filling the right side of the frame.
