Several people have commented on my photos of Sean and highlighted

improvements that could be made....I am still persevering! Any

comments or advice would be welcome.

Improvements. Hmmm botox might help.. Nice capture fing and nicely taken to black and white, although the high light is still burnt on the cheek or that might be my screen. I like the crop.. and I think you have captured my up to no good face very well

Up to no good, huh? Funny, I saw that face at the Britannia one afternoon in Richmond not long ago. I think it was prompted by talk of Bush and Blair and how they are screwing up the world.

This one I like a lot. It again capture Sean's essence in a moment. The mood is something you can feel. I like the touch of the soft catchlights in his eyes. Indeed, as Sean noted, its got wonderful tonal range. Looks like your getting that conversion to B/W stuff down pretty good. Yes, maybe a bit of a burn in on the cheek but no glaring problems.

I like placement and cropping, it's unusual and interesting, so original. Tones are soft, however, on my taste, maybe needs a tad more contrast, not sure if it's possible, probably not (because of cheek). With this minor exceptions the portrait looks excellent.

The two of you could make careers out of photographing each other - and it's yet another keeper here. I actually like the light on the cheek - it improves the candid feel of the photo.

the diagonal composition works well and his smile and expression of his face are ver "locker"( german expression for something like cool )! I would like more strong, hard contrast for this man ( portrait)!

Nice portrait, but need a bit more contrast in my opinion, altough some will like the tonal range, I think it's weak point is the softness and grey, dull tones.

I need to work on it again, just not very good with photoshop! Still, practise makes perfect.

Thank you for all the feedback it really is helpful.

I like the expression and tilt of his head. The smile lines around his eyes offer up a hint of charisma in his personality. Oh... and Sean is very handsome (*sigh*). Reminds me of the actor in the English Patient... damn, forgotten his name, but I certainly remember his gorgeous face. :-)
