dougbraz 0 Posted June 7, 2012 Roger, yes, extraordinary little things aren't they? I bought this one about a month ago and so far so good - the flower opened and is looking good. They are apparently "easy to keep" - for orchids. Keep moist and in shaded light. The size of this flower is about three inches long. In other specimens I have seen it can be larger and there are more petals/flowers at the end. I saw one with 12, which was fantastic! Have attached some closeups for your enjoyment. Thanks again for stopping by.I actually though you were going to suggest I clone out the stem at the top..hehe. CheersDoug Link to comment
peterealey 0 Posted June 7, 2012 Great image and processing. Has an almost alien/insect like feel to it. Regards, Peter Link to comment
nadya r. 0 Posted June 7, 2012 The universe of this flower is so fantastic! (the cloning of a stem just emphasized it!) Link to comment
sonneland 0 Posted June 8, 2012 doug, their size surprised me, for some reason i thought they were really small. so intricate they appear especially in close up 2. i spent a considerable time a few years back trying to capture the magic of orchids, could just never get it quite right. there are some people who for one reason or another just get the most out of one particular type of flower, think your one of those people with orchids. thanks for taking the time to satisfy my curiosity.
