Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted June 9, 2012 "Gallus erecta", indeed! I was intrigued enough to research to see if indeed someone named a cock "gallus erecta", then I discovered that the name is actually "gallus gallus", and is only "erecta" in your imagination. Still, nice processing, a work of art. Link to comment
william_staniforth 0 Posted June 9, 2012 I like this one Pierre . The texture has toned well with the original and lifted it from the ordinary into a work of Art . I wish I could get a similar texture for my stuff ! Just a suggestion , but I wonder what it would be like if some of the texture was masked off the head , especially round the eye . Might be worth a try . Bill Link to comment
dabar 0 Posted June 9, 2012 Ah my friend, such an elegant way with words... and delightful, artistic images!I have been getting little sleep recently... now it's a possible root-kit infection on my computer. @#$%! The 'puter still works, mostly, but is unable to run Windows Update, which is, to say the least, troubling.I have to take a break once in a while, so here I am before I try to get some sleep. Please don't think I have been ignoring you, or anyone else here on p.net. I simply have LOTS on my mind with this comp problem.Love the rooster, kinda like an 'Old Master' Painting, from The Master! Link to comment
llgarcia 1 Posted June 10, 2012 I would gladly like to blow this up and donate this to the cock breeders here in the Philippines as you know we are a country of rooster lovers. The old photo effect of the background enhanced the beauty of this photo. A wonderful creation, Pierre.Warm regards! - Lester Link to comment

Pierre Dumas 280 Posted June 11, 2012 Jack and Cosmin and others who mentioned post processing: I only selected the rooster, made a PSD file of him and put it on a texture picture, blended a little and that's all! Here are the textures for anyone who wants them! Just take care to download the largest size (the original)! Best regards PDE Link to comment

jim_j2 9 Posted June 18, 2012 Pierre,"A short Chicken story."Funny how you would just happen to have a shot of a Chicken out here for critique. I guess timing is everything! BTW, it's a great shot showing all the details, and I like the PP work too! One of my younger Sisters lives in a country setting north of Dallas, TX. As we were raised in the country on a farm, we always had Chickens for the fresh eggs as well as the Sunday dinner. So, my li'l Sis decided she wanted to raise some there on their 10 acres. Obtained a nice "store bought" Chicken house, and built an enclosure attached to it to contain them.Knowing my Sister, by the time it was "said & done," she probably spent about half of what I've got in that "fancy lens" of mine that you refer to!Now, her neighbors complain about the Rooster, but she's become attached to them and don't want to get rid of him. I guess of all the Chicks she had purchased of which were all supposed to be Hens, she got the one Rooster and now does not know what to do with him. I think she's even considering moving!Ah, . . . "The power of Roosters!" Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 280 Posted June 18, 2012 Jim, there is a hole in your chick story! You say all the chicks were supposed to be hens!? Was your little sis that little so that she didn't know that hens don't go without a rooster! I mean, what's the farm for then? Cheers my friend! PDE Link to comment
