lintrathen 15 Posted June 3, 2012 Nice to see you back..... you haven't posted for a while. Not seen one of these before, so thanks for sharing. You have some nice definition and colour here. My only adverse comment would be about the starkness of the background "whites".... very bright on the eyes.In PSE I moved the "darkening of light areas" slider right to maximum that took the sharpness off the whites yet affected little else...... the pigeon "popped".Thought you might like to play, yourself. The image is great, well done.Best regards Link to comment

dhauschild 27 Posted June 20, 2012 Hi Grayham and Jim.The white crowned pigeon is a bird that is native to the islands of the North West Caribbean, I understand they have been seen in Southern Florida. On the West side of Jamaica there is a tree line between the coast and the Great Morass, this is where these birds eat but they do not nest here. It's hard to get a good shot of these guys, they are always up high in the tree tops and when you shoot them the white head blends into the sky. I was lucky to find one with a dark background that better contrasts the head without losing the detail on the body. Thanks for the comments from both of you.Don Link to comment
