I'm not sure if not seeing her eyes is a problem or not. When I took

the picture I didn't really think of it. Now I wonder if it would have

been better to try and get the hair out of the way.

I like it with the eyes covered. That adds a sense of mystery, somewhat like when ladies used to wear hats with veils. I think I would crop off a bit of the left side to lose the distracting ball, dead vine and brighter green grass.

I think I would have just cropped off the left side as you did and not cropped the right side. That eliminates the distractions on the left and keeps the dog composition better rather than having the dog's head in the middle of the photo.

 

People tend to look at a photo the same way that they read, from left to right. Eliminating distractions on the left is most important.
