I did this shoot on Monday, I had the most terrible luck with weather, I

took this shot in a 15 minute break between heavy rain showers, beside a

flower shop down a busy South London street. My friend Tuesday is the

model, she'd never modelled before, 6 months pregnant too, I felt awful

making her stand out in the freezing rain! My aim was to try and create

something that could be interpreted as "Retro Vogue"

Hi there - I think you certainly achieved what you set out to do - and more. The fact that she has never modeled before may even contribute to this intriguing image. Her expression is captivating and engaging - and she works beautifully with the retro theme. Her eyes and mouth creates the focus and she has a timeless beauty. Your use of color and aperture is great and ads to the good composition. The blur in the foreground left, creates the sense of observation and a "story". This is art - not only a theme. As a wedding photographer, I like this very much.

Without a doubt, you have succeeded and it is a wonderful image. It was well worth the effort!. I wish that you had not used the bracelet because I find it somewhat distracting, pulling my attention away from the face and the intriguing expression, but that is only a minor point in a great photo.

Being that I've seen this look many times in fashion magazines I think you have succeeded very nicely in recreating the effect, I would just like to know what you used in the foreground to get that blur if you don't mind, nice shot.
