In an absract art kind of way it's neat. From a photographic standpoint, it's too bad the Zebra isn't in focus.

Well Jay, I'd say your wife is good at judging your photos. What were you going for here? I don't think there's enough form for an abstract here, and for a straight shot there's just no point of focus either literally or figuratively. Maybe a tidier set of leaves (without the yellow blur) in focus and the zebra a bit better placed would be an improvement. Alternatively the plants could be blurred and the zebra in focus. I'm struggling here, but it does rather look to me like something buzzed up your trouser leg just as you pressed the shutter button. But I am curious to see what others think, so I'll be back.

Unsharpness or blurr can form sometimes an essential part of the visual vocabulary in photography. However in this photo it doesn't work.

Too much dark in the foreground I think. Also the vertical blades overpower too much. Maybe a tight blurred frame on the zebra that shows lots of stripes and body contours would be neat. A panorama of sorts. Or maybe a vertical section of this one from the center? That would abstract the zebra out and I don't get as much issue with one dark vertical stripe. I am leaning towards thinking that it is too easy to tell it's a zebra and that kind of spoils the fun.
