Fantastic photo....surprised no one has rated it. Is it a natural photo or layered, I couldn't work it out. And what do you mean by Assimilation.....not sure what is being assimilated here, the bars or the graves or the trees by the bars and the graves? I would like to see a darker copy (though I probably never will) as I think a dark subject needs dark overtones in lighting. All said though, it's my favorite photo that I have looked at today (and I have wasted about an hour and a half looking.......Sad....get a life Fabian)!

Thanks Fabian! I was in kind of a contemplative mood at the time and had a story playing itself out in my head of trees retaliating against smog-loving humans, deciding to just grow over everything resulting in a very botanical post-apocalyptic world- thus trees assimilating everything.. It's a natural photo.. as in that's really there, on the edge of Brisbane's botanical gardens edge of the city. Nothing too troublesome like layering involved, and I just had to bracket like crazy to get a good exposure, because there wasn't that much available light, plus I lost 3 stops because I wanted the red filter to blacken the bars (green) and the foliage too. Lost some detail on scanning, but the print looks wonderful to me :) Btw, no graves near by, not sure where you got that from! Glad you like it though! Regards

This is one of those technically fascinating pictures which ultimately don't appeal to me because there isn't anything for my eye to focus on. I do like the right hand side of the picture, the tree and the foliage are just right, but the left hand side seems weak to me. I think this is a love it or hate it job and I'm confused as to which camp I fall into.

I agree! Would have loved to stay there much longer than I did, but the mosquitoes apparently, also enjoy overpowering human subject matter. Next time I'm there I'm bringing repellent :) Thanks Douglas, glad you like it!

Hey Ryan, Very nice shot. Excellent contrast. Interesting subject. Also, thanks for the comments on my photos. I don't think you have screwy eyes either. You have very good eyes. You spotted things in my photo than even I hadn't noticed. ;-) Happy shooting. :-)

Thanks Carla! That's very kind of you- If I spotted anything, I'd credit boredom instead of my eyes.. Cheers :)
