RT,

This is a great pose and I really like the way the bird is "talking" as you shot.  It looks like there is some really good detail and color in the shot and the eye is really nice.  It seems like it might be enhanced if you lowered the exposure a little.  I would give it a try.  Regards

Phil's comments are sound and I have made some adjustments along those lines.

Good capture.............

Thanks Phil and Graham,

I agree it's a bit too light.

The overworked image was a bit overdone to my taste, but working with such a small jpeg ofcourse has huge limitations.

Considering your positive comments, I changed it like this:

Thanks!

Sorry Grayham for my typo.

Maybe this one is finer: http://gallery.photo.net/photo/15722452-lg.jpg

Thanks for your willingness to take the comments in the spirit they were given, and to work your image to a far better example than first presented.

My rendition was a hasty attempt to recover a touch of colour and definition, but your shot (immediately above) has achieved what I was looking for...... yet with a far softer "touch". The eye rim is lovely.........

Well done

Well done on giving it a more softer touch it really did exposed the beauty of its eyes.
