panzerwolf 0 Posted June 29, 2003 i think you should watch for cracks not to go straight over areas where there's an edge (nose-cheek)... and that the texture isn't sharper than the rest of the picture (beard, etc)... what did you do to his lips?here's my attempt on this, btw ; ) Link to comment
h._p. 2 Posted June 29, 2003 Good idea but not quite well enough executed. You seem to be losing contrast somewhere but more importantly, this sort of "staring into the distance" approach doesn't really work very well unless the model has exceptionally sculptured features which grab the eye. On the other hand, the idea is well worth pursuing. Link to comment
alen 0 Posted June 29, 2003 i did it in about 20mins in photoshop... i'll try it again with a diferent model and i'll try a bit harder to make it look more realistic. contrast is low coz i used only red channel. yeah the cracks r 2 sharp... tnx Link to comment
lubos_pusty 0 Posted June 30, 2003 his mouth doesn't fit me to the rest of the photo; otherwise i like it Link to comment
ajpn 0 Posted June 30, 2003 Did you do this with a displacement map? I think this was very well executed, but I too, feel the lips don't fit. Too soft. Great idea. Link to comment
alen 0 Posted July 1, 2003 i just used a layer with earth texture on it, filter - spherize to get a face-like form and then set the layer to color burn. i used only the red channel to get darker bckgrnd & lighter face. the rest is cutting the non face parts on the texture layer. Link to comment
ajpn 0 Posted July 3, 2003 You can also create a displacement map and use it to map a second image to the contours of the first. It's outlined in a couple of different books, Photoshop Wow being the one I learned it from. I used it on this image to map a flag to the rocks, but I think it would work better in your type of application. Link to comment
