O.k,, I missed the Super Moon, but all the craze did strike my interest

so, I had to give it a try! Even more so after reading the Forum Posts

here on PN.

This was shot from a tripod with a remote release with a Canon 50D, EF

100-400 coupled to the 1.4X Teleconverter. It was taken @ 04:08:07 AM

on 05.08.2012

Thanks for taking the time to view, comment/critique & rate, and for the

opportunity to share!

Other than resizing and a bit of brightness & contrast adjustment, it's

just as it came out of the camera.

There is shooting information under the Details Tab.

Thanks again,

Jim j.

Nice, love the contrast.

The settings you used puzzle me a bit. Why did you use f10 is that a lens sweet spot? Or is it just the result of the other settings?

Thanks so much for your visit and comment!

As you know with the 1.4X TC my largest obtainable aperture is f/8.0, and yes, I find that I get better sharpness @ f/10 & f/11 when coupled with the TC. Without the TC and above 300mm, my lens performs best at around f/8.0.

Thanks again!

Regards always,

Jim j.

Congratulations, Jim.  This image made the afternoon edition of PN's Daily Sampling, and you had another image on the Daily Sampling this morning.  Way to go.  This image of the moon is very strong and shows good detail.  I am amazed that this is the first time I have seen it.

Thanks!

I haven't been around PN much lately between a little bit of working and out shooting all day today.

Working on some images from today now, and signed in to post a few, . . . hopefully.

Great to hear from you, and thanks! Back to seeing what else I've missed out on!

Regards always,

Jim j.
