dwaugh 0 Posted April 25, 2012 I wanted to try and capture the feel of the young vine maple forest that I was hiking through, and I feel like this photo does it best with several layers of focus. The ferns were the main draw for the photo. The photo is an HDR. All comments and critiques welcome. Link to comment
countrylapi 0 Posted April 27, 2012 I'm not sure that it works yet. The massive distraction on the left has to go. But, I don't know if I would prefer F8 or F22 for this shot. But I like it. Link to comment
dwaugh 0 Posted April 29, 2012 Thanks for the great critique. I have to say that I think the close up out of focus maple is what helps make this a better shot than the others I took without it. Those shots lacked the same feeling it gave... they didn't give the same feeling of being there like this does. I forget what aperture I used on this, too. It was my manual lens. I'm guessing F8 or somewhere in that range. Link to comment
countrylapi 0 Posted April 30, 2012 Yeah Dave, I see your point. Maybe if you shot at F11 or so it would not be as distacting. The problem is my eye just gets annoyed with it. Maybe if it were a hair more in focus, just enough to push me to the subject, but not to distract... then we got it! Link to comment
