greslizzz 0 Posted April 24, 2012 Nice one: Perfect exposition...It invites to play with burn and dodge a little also...And a great portfolio! Link to comment
dougbraz 0 Posted April 24, 2012 Apart from "the moment", I love the overall grey tone to the image and the sharpness. At first I thought it was a pterodactyl! Link to comment
lintrathen 15 Posted April 25, 2012 A great presentation here. Your capture of the "drab" day is lovely and supports the Pelican well. The definiition in the subject is striking and I would have loved to see a larger view.Good image, well done.Regards Link to comment
jhl 0 Posted April 25, 2012 Awesome capture!! Looks like this Pelican has a ring for studies. Also looks like a real poser.Simon, you captured a beautiful scene here as well and I congratulate you on a Winner. Love the "Greys" as well.RegardsJ Link to comment
jenkins 0 Posted April 25, 2012 Thanks all, there were a few pelicans on the pier this day maybe eight, some were more shy than others, in my latest upload you can see how close this one was to the fisherman, he was a very bold bird. I noticed most of them had the study ring on their legs, I am not sure how people manage to do this. Thanks again for stopping by. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted April 25, 2012 Too bad about the bird, otherwise a nice seascape. I hope you chased off the damn bird and got a few good shots. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 26, 2012 Simon, very nice timing, I like the hues on its wings its form and details, and the haizy BG, Well executed. Link to comment
jim_j2 9 Posted April 26, 2012 Simon,"Gloomy day on the Pier, . . . rewarded!"Excellent timing and details!Only thing that could have made it "better," possibly, if the shutter speed had been just a bit faster to stop the action in that wing tip!Regards,Jim j. Link to comment
jenkins 0 Posted April 26, 2012 Thanks Pnina and James, I'm not saying I intentionally set a shutter speed to have a little movement on the wing tips James, but I wouldn't change that now, it brings some movement into the picture that I hadn't quite planned for :) Link to comment
