kahkityoong 0 Posted April 22, 2012 While leading a workshop in Paris, I witnessed one of the participants shooting a particularly photogenic door when when to her surprise a priest in his collar emerged. Similarly, later in the day, I had set up a composition in a colourful and lively neighborhood including a door and part of a fruit shop when just as unexpectedly a distinguished looking gentleman exited. I managed to catch a frame through the steady stream of pedestrians. Link to comment
mikemorrell 3,209 Posted April 22, 2012 What I like about this photo are the contrasts ...... between the sense of movement (women on the left, umbrella) and the static pose of the man... between the unpainted door & wall of the building and the well-dressed man with hios briefcaseBoth left and right of the photo are dark and the man sort of steps out into the lit area in the centre. The Vins Fins and market produce gives the photo a sense of location. All in all a really nice photo! Very kind of the man and your patience paid off.Best wishes,Mike Link to comment
salgoud 0 Posted April 22, 2012 Like Mike, I like the framing and the wonderful detail of the gentleman between two moving entities. The colour and tones are excellent for this image.Very well captured.Regards Doug Link to comment
rekaras 0 Posted April 23, 2012 Well done. I really like the antique effect and the composition is sharp and effective. The gentleman looks a bit like Sean Connery. Very nice, rek. Link to comment
donna pallotta 108 Posted April 24, 2012 i agree with the others, Kah; the mood is wonderfully presented by the way the distinguished man, even though at a distance in the frame, grabs the attention from an otherwise splendid mise en scene on its own of the fruit stand, door, and passersby. an excellent street capture, made even better by your capture of the man walking into the scene. compliments ;-} dp Link to comment
