Clearwater sunrise

Great colors and good reflection in the mirror-like surface.Have you tried this with a wider crop at the top to include more/all of the nice pink cloud which is in the reflected image?I think it would only enhance this very good image.

Congratulations on a superb shot.The shape of the trees and the color coming through close to their trunks is just beautiful.While i quite like the very black trees giving a 'punch' to the image, the trend these days is to retain just a tad f detail in those blacks. IMHO, the only way to achieve that is with shooting 3 or 4 bracketed images and use the HDR process. 

If you are not using HDR, when you encounter a scene like this, shoot in RAW mode and bracket 4 or 5 shots one stop apart. At least you have the images to cover most technical solutions including HDR. There is lots of talk about the HDR look but I am able to get results where it is difficult to tell that you used the HDR process.

Hey Tony, I appreciate your input. I did shoot this in raw and I did an HDR which was pretty good. I guess i was okay with the trees as they are. We were only there for a couple of days but there are a lot of spots to shoot. Hope all is well with you.
