Night Flight To Venus

ian cameron

Loch Cul Dromannan, Inverpolly, ScotlandI had already had one of the most stunning days of photography for a long long time at Inverpolly even though the day hadn't started out with a great deal of promise, but having packed up and started on my way home I suddenly came across a rare high quality reflection on little Loch Cul Dromannan. I duly stopped and witnessed a breathtakingly beautiful colour gradient from blue through to belt of Venus magenta and then to cap it all there was the Moon, Venus and Jupiter in the same spectacular sky, reflected. Pentax 67II, 0.3ND grad inverted up to loch horizon and 0.6ND reverse grad taken down to the horizon. to generate a 1 stop reverse grad. f4 at 15 seconds. Shot wide open to minimise movement of the moon and planets. Fuji Velvia 50.

....way out there in space. This was such a cool sight on a

breathtakingly beautiful evening near the town of Ullapool in

Scotland..If you look carefully Jupiter is visible too.

I like the serenity of the shot, Ian. I believe this would be a great spot for a star trails version taken at the verge of the night. The scenery is breathtaking. Best regards. Peter
