warren_baird 0 Posted May 10, 2001 I guess it depends on what you are trying for... I find the artificial looking color artifacts in the flags and in the bird distracting... I'm talking about the greenish highlights... If you were trying to make that happen, then you may have achieved exactly the effect you wanted, and I just happen to not like it. If you weren't trying for that, I'd be very careful what you are doing with any color or brightness manipulations. I'm not familar with photoshop, but in the Gimp, you can (if you are careful) do a lot of color and gamma adjustments without introducing these kinds of artifacts... Link to comment
markrupert 0 Posted May 28, 2001 Aside from the digital manipulation, this strikes me as a visual cliche (and one that has its roots in nationalistic propaganda to boot). Mark Link to comment
christian deichert 1 Posted May 28, 2001 Too digital, and too saccharine. One flag would be enough, two is overdoing it. Looks like a cover shot for any one of the "for active duty service members only" offers I keep getting in the mail. Link to comment
james_watt 0 Posted January 1, 2002 Nationalistic propaganda? Too sacchrine? Looks like a cover shot for one of those active duty mags? Thanks guys! That's what I was going for... Link to comment
