Nice idea to have half of your face in shadow but I don't think it quite works here. Just a little shadow detail would make a big improvement...

I'd agree with Julian. Alternatively, if you really wanted to do this as a light and shade excercise, the terminator needs to be more centrally placed on the forehead.

You have combined dramatic lighting with a very casual facial expression. They don't seem to go together.

I think it is fine to have shadow, but there needs to be some detail in the shadow. This portrait does not appeal to me, and is in sore need of at least some reflected light into the shadows.
