This is the best out of the four. Its good timing, a little distracting in the foreground and back in my opinion, though works well here. Did you put anything in the water?

Just finished making a selection of these water drops falling shot. Could you give me your impressions on this and, if possible, the others in the folder? I'm very much interested to know which one would be your favorite and why. My personal favorite is this one but I regret that the lower waterdrop is not 100% sharp.

What is yours? -Thanks!,

the series is interesting, but i wish you would have been able to really freeze the motion (as you said yourself)... you used a flash, so i guess there was quite much available light for exposure during the rest of the 1/200...

as for my favourite, i can't decide between this one and #IV...

In my first tries, I used a lot more flash power (1/8) at f/20 but the long duration of the flash was not completely freezing the action. Here, I believe it's completely frozen. I reduced flash output to 1/64 at the cost of having to stop down just to f/8. Given the angle of the camera (to include some of the splash on the leaf) and the close focus (macro lens focused down to 1:1) the lower droplet is out of the (quite narrow) sharpness area.

A pity indeed :-(

-regards,
