You should start looking at award categories and qualifications.

This is a world class photo; perhaps in a class by itself.

For instance the Pulitzers award one prize, in breaking news, to a newspaper publication.  I looked at the rules and it appears clear there is no other category than breaking news for a Pulitzer so this would be ineligible.

I do advise you, however to look at the rules of the World Press Photo awards, which may not yet be published for the coming year, and if you read last contest's rules, they may be changed before the next competition in a way that may help you.

They have other categories than breaking news or whatever they call their most famous news photos.

This is a world caliber photo, and could easily be an award winning photo for some organization and you; try to ferret out what category, what medium, and see if you can arrange to get it published even if it means almost giving it away to be award eligible.

An award can be VERY prestigious and in the future can bring business.

Long ago, one man/couple arranged for publication of a train dangling from an overpass in Northern California, in a newspaper, just so they'd be Pulitzer eligible in the spot news category, and they won the prize.

I understand the photo was 'rather late', but I could be wrong.  Don't wait, however, publish it the same year it's taken, and same year of the contest.

If any rules require your photo be published, make sure it's published by someone IN THE MANNER AND MEDIUM THEY SPECIFY to make it prize eligible.

That should not be hard for this photo if you set the price right  or if no price is asked, and you only ask that it be published.

These days, those who give such awards or others may be changing their award requirements and rules, too, because of changes in the media, so be sure the award qualifications you read are this week's, not last year's.

Other organizations, such as travel organizations, etc., have their own awards, and those are not anything to sniff your nose at -- any award is better than no award, I think, unless its got X X X in front of it or NC 17.

This is a rare photo; a gem.

I NEVER write such things about any photo anywhere on this service or elsewhere.

If you have great experience that I do not know about in the field of press photography and publishing, then you may know what to do, but if not, this is a good photo worth your while to educate yourself for.

Others with credentials on seeing it may well volunteer their help just for the joy of it.

It's that good.

Trust me.

Sumon, this really is spectacular. i love your viewpoint and the play of light over the landscape and in the balloons. Also I like that there are many still on the ground and only a few in the air.

Stunning shot, definitely a different view of Cappadocia, I just finished a book from this area, but I think that hot air ballooning was not there when I was, nevertheless an outstanding image.

my dear friend sumon, all is written, so my comment is only for tell you my admiration for this photo. and, if i can add something, there is something logic in the rapport between this hard landscape and the ballon. ballons tell about the land, difficult, no streets ecc and landscape underlins the freedom of the ballons. bravo, as always

This place seems so popular for it's Air Balloon Rides, and there is no doubt why. Such magnificent and 'different' rock formations you have here.

Exceptional P/P in this composition Sumon. The lighting is fabulous for this capture.

Well done!

Warmest and all the best, Gail

Outright a 7/7! A marvelous image  with those balloons lighted up, the hills surrounding it and the tone of the sky all matched together to produce this fantastic image.

Goes into my favorites too! Regards!
