Portknockie Blue

ian cameron

Portknockie, Moray, ScotlandA grey overcast morning on the coast at the Bowfiddle Rock, Portknockie. I must confess I like these conditions and the lack of wind belied the swell on the sea which was left over from the previous day's squall. The long exposure created trails of surf and spume and the dark sea mirrored the sky, turned a rich blue contrasting beautifully with the soft pillows of moss on the cliff top.Pentax 67 II ,45mm lens,Fujichrome VelviaPolariser, 0.45ND hard grad, f/16 at 8 seconds.

Wonderful hues of blues! Lovely dimension of the slow exposure's contribution to the overall effect. Your title suggests that there is a distinctive blue to this locale? If so, you've certainly rendered it in a most appealing way. Cheers!

A beautifully composed shot that really works well in a square format. Beautiful exposure that really makes thw suttle colours work. Well done and congrats William

A stunningly beautiful image perfectly composed and framed, and the long exposure really helps create the soft moody atmosphere.
