Basketball, Late Afternoon (Marshall System)

What is the Marshall system? I notice a slight half halo behind the ball, is that intentional?

The Marshall System is when you take a black and white print on matte paper, and you color in the picture yourself with coloring pencils and/or watercolor. In this one, I used colored pencils. And yes, the halo along the left side was intentional, but it didn't come out the way I wanted it. Oops.

Interesting shot, but I think a slight crop might help. I hope you don't mind - I thought it would be easier to demonstrate than describe. Something like this to bring the ball off center vertically and let the shadow fall into the corner.
