tao 0 Posted June 21, 2003 This picture was an "accident". Lens aperture was set at f1. The face of my daughter is clearly out of focus. However, people who see this photo usually find it very attractive. I wanted to have opinions from people who neither know me nor my daughter... Thanx! Link to comment
peteraitch 732 Posted June 26, 2003 We all have "accidents" with our photos. Some work, some do not. I like this one, so it works for me. I'm not going to presume to analyse it, or elaborate on my response. It just works! Incidentally, I'm surprised that you are having contrast problems with your Minolta Dimage Scan Elite II. It seems to have a very good contrast range (at least for me). Please e-mail me if you want to discuss this point further - we can always take it to the forums if other people are interested!. tao 0 Posted June 30, 2003 Peter : actually I only have contrast problems on some very specific images (generally the ones with a broad spectrum of tones) where I mainly lose details around zone VII. I will post an example here or on the forum you mentioned. Link to comment
mclaine 0 Posted July 2, 2003 Yes, this was a good miss. The focus is not on your daughter's face, but we can see her happiness in a charming and unusual composition. It's very good. Link to comment
sheridan 0 Posted July 10, 2003 Laurent. The atmosphere and composition works well despite the less orthodox focus. Link to comment
sheridan 0 Posted July 10, 2003 Laurent. Who says the face must always be focused. You daughter's mood is still evident and the in focus elements , bubbles and starfish, balance the composition nicely. Link to comment
caltha 0 Posted July 21, 2003 Great and original idea, but I really think her face should be sharp. (Seems like her hair just a little longer away from the lens is...) Link to comment
