photogeek 0 Posted April 22, 2001 My son and a freind fishing at dusk on a lake behind our house. I shot 8 of these in different positions and I like this one the best Link to comment
kevin_kolosky 2 Posted April 23, 2001 As I have stated so many times before in this forum, when you have backlit photographs such as sunrise and sunsets, you may have a pretty picture, but little else, due to the fact that everything in the foreground is backlit (in deep shadow), and that therefore you need to make sure that what you have in that foreground is something INTERESTING. Here you definitely have that. It is a wonderful photograph, and one that I am sure you and your son will cherish for a long long time. This is one for your wall. Wouldn't change a thing. kevin Link to comment
yi_chen 0 Posted April 23, 2001 Hi I like this picture, I am new to photography, but what do you think if you move your camera to the right, so that the sun will be on the right side of the frame, and the persons on the left side. Link to comment
philg 0 Posted April 23, 2001 Not much is happening in the left-hand side of the frame. Have you considered just cropping it out? And turning the photo into a vertical? It has a very different mood if you hold your hand over the left part of the frame. Link to comment
photogeek 0 Posted April 23, 2001 Phil, I have not thought about your suggested crop, but I will go thru with it and see what it looks like. I had some good responses on some other web sites but I feel the pic needs a crop or something. So I posted here to maybe get some ideas on what to do with the photo to make it better and there are alot of "good eyes" here at photo.net to help with that very situation. Thanks again, Mike L.
