Beautiful photo. Actually both versions are beautiful and in the end it is not a matter of better or worse but simply personal preference. I personally prefer this one. I like the fact that the water comes right up to the edge of the photo. That draws more attention to the colours in the lake. It also gives the photo a bit more of that feeling of loneliness because the water also creates a barrier - there is no (visible) way to get from here to the mountain n the background (the place where, despite the fact that there is so much to see, my eye always comes to rest).

Congrats Alain. Both shots are gorgeous. I prefer Lofoten (2) because of the wonderful S shapes of the snow banks on the right and left. The water leads the viewer's eyes from the lower left into the photo thru a meandering path. Complete eye candy. The colors are amazing.
