I also think it is nice. I might have cropped the right edge at the corner of the structure, but that's just a personal preference. The bits of ceiling detail go nicely with the bits of exposed brick in the arches.

Really good detail, good exposure and contrast. I agree with Jon about the right edge, it's never good to have light bits at the edge of a picture as it leads the eye, but overall this is a very nice picture - Richard.

Excellent exposure, shadows have great details ,a nice B&W picture except right edge spoils the composition. There might have been some hitches at the time of taking picture. No problem I liked it.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I really hadn't paid much attention to the right edge, I was mostly focused on the shadows and arches. I'll have to remember to pay more attention next time. Still learning. Thanks :)

Everything has already been said, quite rightly... and I still find this shot very good and interesting. Well done, Carla

Hi again Carla! I think this frame's much better than the other one (Tree in the Arch?) :) I like that it's coming from a lower shooting position too- the relative perspective of the arches as the ceiling tapers away really works for me. I also like the way there are so many different areas with different amounts of light/contrast (I especially like the fully shadowed insides of the arches) which give it kind of a lithographic mood.. To improve the frame to my taste, I'd shift the shooting position or tripod half or one footstep to the left, to let the nearmost arch frame your picture for you (I believe that was a popular comment here). I think what that little bit of space did in this image is turn that pillar into more of a primary subject instead of secondary detail.. but following that idea though, maybe an even lower position tilted slightly higher could work, to get some of the top of that near arch, and take some emphasis away from the pillar and give it to the structure? Overall, I think it's a good location with heaps of potential.. I'd give it lots of film (the colour in the other shot was really good.. maybe try a saturated available light shot in the evening too? if you don't mind the graves ;))(btw, thanks for the comments on that B/W shot of mine. I like it the most out of that folder, but for some reason one of the others got a lot more attention. I think it's a title thing..) Cheers!
