Thought provoking to say the least!  Depending upon one's experiences and situation this could be taken in opposite ways.  Political overtones whether intentional or not.  One of the purposes of great art, no?  Make people stop and think, wonder.  Is he giving or receiving? 

Perfect choice of color/tone.  The steel of the machine and the silver of lucre.
