It's worth a lot to me Kathy.  Thanks!  I like both versions but  the B&W one is new to me so I've got to give it more time.  I usually prefer B&W for people photos so I have a built in bias in favour of that version.  B&W provides one less element, colour, to possibly cause a distraction from one's subject.  So far that's the consensus I get from the above comments.  Thanks for dropping by.  Best, LM.

To begin with it is a very lovely image and that smile is dynamite - well perhaps not dynamite but something that will charm anyone in its path. My immediate reaction was to wonder what it looked like in color since I tend to always associate fall images with color. Then I saw the color version and I thought that it still does not convey my idea of Fall. I think if you warmed  up the color version (+10Y and plus 10Red)  I would probably go for the color version.  Then again it comes down to tastes - both versions are very good but i would prefer a warmed up color version.

I guessed at the color balance change I would apply and I think +10Y and +20R produced something that I prefer.

Thanks for going the extra mile with your version.  I agree that my colour version could use a little warming up.  Blame it on my use of 'Auto Colour' (lazy man's down & dirty technique) in Photoshop.  Were I to print this one in colour I would take a bit more time with it.  You have shown the way. Best, LM.

Len, they are finally two very different photos.  The B&W has a timeless quality to me and would be my favorite if forced to choose, but frankly I like them both.  I do like what Tony has done with the color version.

And with a Rolleiflex, no less!  Wow!

Yah, B&W or colour, something for everyone.  Having had time to digest this new version for a while I think I prefer the B&W.  But for people shots B&W has been my bias for quite some time now.  (since I received a book of KARSH photos years ago)  I agree it has that timeless, classic, retro, or whatever quality. The Rolleiflex T, though the entry level model at the time I bought it new, (1963) has served me well.  I only bought other cameras because I thought I HAD to have wide angle and telephoto lenses or larger apertures, not because my photography lacked for these features.  Fuzzy thinking!  Thanks for stopping by.  Best, LM.

Such a sweet expression! I like the b/w for the timeless quality but I like the color because I can see those beautiful blue eyes! Great capture! Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :)

This one has been a family favourite for decades.  He now has his own sweet faced boys.  (more fodder for my camera)  :-)  Thanks for taking the time.  Best, LM.
