bryan_chapman 0 Posted June 19, 2003 Any ideas on how to improve this image? I've just started into portrait photography. Bought my 1st camera a little over a year ago. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Link to comment
joe_hodge 271 Posted June 19, 2003 Your upload is a little small to judge by, but it looks as if you were shooting with a fairly wide aperature, and missed getting the baby's face in sharp focus. I like the colors and that you caught him "in motion", and the framing is nice too. Simple but roughly in line with the rule of thirds. Oh, you've classified this as "underwater", which you might want to fix. Link to comment
panzerwolf 0 Posted June 19, 2003 for an underwater picture i think it's quite sharp ; ) and as for the rest, i mostly agree with joe g. Link to comment
joe_garrick 0 Posted June 19, 2003 It's hard to tell on the focus, but it does look like you've missed a bit. The sunlight is a little strong - either some fill flash or more reflected light on the shadow side might help ease it a little. Finally, the big fuzzy thing in front of him - I'd want to either know what it is or have it removed. I'd also like to see a larger image, but I still like it overall. He looks engaged in what he's doing. I get tired of sleepy looking babies. This is nice. Link to comment
