Hi All

I would love to know your thought on this composition and

lighting?

Thanks

I like it. I'm no pro but everything seems correctly exposed. You wouldn't want the subject to be too lit up like with a flash because of the darkness of the photo, even his expression. It almost looks like a fire in the background with the sunset or sunrise. If you're playing with contract and colors, you might be able to increase the greens and oranges for a more brilliant effect, but personally I don't like to tweak my colors too much and prefer to go with the brilliant natural colors, like you've got with the light and clouds.

As an amature, I think it depends on the effect you want to create.

My eyes are drawn instantly to the lights (which look like fire) in the background. The ksy is also deeply saturated. The model literally pales into insignifigance in comparison.

The lighting looks even, natural and fairly weak (twilight?). As a consequence the model looks to me to be a bit "flat" with little shadows to give a 3D modelling effect.

So the impression the photo makes on me (50+ white male) is a pale, flat model against a strong, colorful background. The tension between these two elements does make for an interesting photograph!

I like the colors and balance of the subject on one side against the sunset clouds on the other.  Not sure what you used for lighting, but the subject appears to be well lit with diffused directional light.  The bright lights in the background are somewhat of a distraction, but not in a bad way, my eye keeps going back and forth between the subject and the lights.  I like the fashion also.

Thanks for the comments!!

You wont believe but I never used any lighting only an amazing little lens being the canon 55m F1.8.  If I could personally change 1 thing it would be the light reflection in his glasses but I am not sure if this would spoil the amount of detail in his face and make him look flat?

I am hoping to get my lighting within a month or so and will be posting alot of my pictures!!

Once again thanks for taking the time to comment!!!
