Very strong colours and lines. You have a great eye for composition. I would guess that the moon was just a happy coincidence in the frame as opposed to the subject, given its size and position. Congrats on developing a really varied portfolio. I think the frame works really well but on my screen I see some jpeg artifacts on the frame, but then I have a crappy lcd screen with a huge variation in gamma.

I don't normally take this type of photo, am trying to take different

photos to gain practise and learn. Any comments or suggestions would

be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Nice colors and lighting. The polarizer makes the sky very intense. Consider removing the border...to me, it detracts. Otherwise, great job!

Bridget, it makes for an excellent abstract image. The dark space immediately around the image emphasizes the strength of the color very well. Looks like the CP filter was just the trick needed to give the image that extra "pop". Because I'm on my laptop right now the contrast indicates that a lot of the black areas were added as a frame. My opinion (for what worth it may have) is that you dont need the extra black space. A relatively narrow band of black surrounding the image would make perfectly effective emphasis of the dark spaces inside. Just my opinion, which you can take or leave. That aside, I think its great.

Oh, as for the phenomenon of the 3/3 rating without comment, I'd just leave it go. You'll drive yourself crazy if you let that stuff get to you. There's a guy on here that did an image called "A London Collage" that seems to have gotten a bit nutty about that kind of thing. Obviously he's a knucklehead.

its simple, clean and thought provoking - i like it ... re the 3/3 -some people just arent into this type of thing. i am, and obviously you are too or you wouldnt have taken it .. your people captures are excellent ... experimenting might not always bring the approval of others but is nessarary to grow

IMO, this picture doesnt have a frame of reference, it looks like a 2D image hanging/floating in space. I would think this needs a point of contact in the frame to tie it down to make it a great image. Nevertheless good capture

Very nice photograph - I like the simplicity and strong lines you've got in this shot, and the moon in the upper left quarter is a bonus.

I like the harsh light. However, something is missing! You have amazing photos in your portfolio, especially Portraits of Sean and Violin 2.

I think portraits are your stong side!!!
