What a great "clean" looking capture. I really like the composition you chose, a really nnice "V" shape. And you obviously worked on levitation to capture the image where many would have walked away.

Great stuff

All my best,   Bill

A finely executed still life - very well composed, with clean, crisp detail.  This image speaks to all of us to cherish antiquity.

Beautiful tins.  I wonder what it is about these collectibles that yank on heartstrings.  There used to be an art to advertising.  I wonder if years from now, people will be paying top dollar for cans of Spaghettios or tattered boxes of Froot Loops.

Hi Gail, I'm with you on these tins absolutely love them, my wife has quite a collection of these old tins, purely for aesthetics though. This is an interesting image or there's, lots to look at inside this photograph, I love poking around old antique shops, you just never know what you'll find, lovely colours and contrast to this image, so very well done. Take care Gail, best regards Grant.

So nice to hear from you and hear that you love exploring in Antique Shops as well. Although I can never afford very much, it is always like a little Treasure Hunt just to see what you can find buried behind everything.

My Dad got me interested many years ago. He took me to Auctions, and on Sunday drives we would stop at every old shop he could find. He is a great collector of anything that he thinks he can resell. That is how he has 'financed' his love of Cameras!!

Many thanks for those kind remarks. I had many more tins than I do now, and of course only used them for 'display'. I have an old canning cupboard that I like to put them on. There are a few TV Show we watch, American and Canadian Pickers. From these shows I've learned that some old tins are worth a fortune - especially old Oil Tins. I saw one the other day that was worth over $6,000. I couldn't believe it!!

Warm regards, Gail

Hello there. So nice to hear from you. There is something about these old tins that many love. I think it is a 'connection to the past'. I always have a curiousity of just who owned them etc. Rather unrealistic, but I do just the same.

thanks for your visit! Warm regards, Gail

Gail, this is a nice collection of various vintage tins. You have captured the patina and color of these nicely showing the variety of the ages of them. Also the view beyond helps give a sense of their place. From the tag on the one tin and from the two oval frames beyond I would guess this is an antique shop.
