You are right, the issue of who is more patriotic seems to be a universal theme.

In the USA, the Republicans have been claiming a 'lock' on patriotism for a very long time.

In Northern Ireland, there are two factions -- though things seem vastly improved now.

It seems to be a universal theme, correct?

Luckily, Ukrainians are not prone to violence, and this is as close as I'm likely ever to see, outside of gangland/mafia goings on, which I am NEVER likely to be involved in or witness.

I'm glad this touched a nerve with you.  Its success has surprised me.

No real history of such types of unions in this former Communist country.

'Unions' were a big part of the Soviet state structure and meant mainly for show; they were largely powerless when Communism fell; took their orders from on high, and largely disappeared with the fall of Communism.  Everyone had been a member; joining was never an option until they largely were superfluous.

So far as I know, no one uses muscle for such things; this represents one man's upset, the man, left.

With your history, without a question mark after a comment, an emoticon, or other cue, one has to take your comments as being serious, so please be guided.

The written word is devoid of the cues we see in interpersonal relationships like the wink, the twinkle in the eye, the smile just barely seen at the edge of pursed lips and so forth that 'gives away' an attempt at humor, so forgive me.

I can only take what you write as being serious given your history until you indicate otherwise, OK?
